We install bermuda and fescue sod in Cary, and the sod is the easy part - grading and soil prep are what make it last. We cut out the old turf, fix the low spots that hold water, and lay screened topsoil before a single roll goes down.
Season matters more than you think
Fescue goes down September through November so it roots in cool weather before summer stress. Bermuda goes down late spring into summer. If someone offers to lay fescue in July, walk away - it will not survive its first August.
